Georgian Community

~550 AD

The Georgian community belongs to the Caucasus, a corridor between the Black Sea, Armenia, Persia, and the steppe. Origin traditions connect the community to early exilic movements, while later history shows deep integration with Georgian language, local society, and regional trade. The Caucasus setting made the community part of both eastern and northern routes.

Its placement after 70 AD reflects the clearer late antique development of a durable Caucasus community. The stream connects broadly to eastern Israelite dispersion and later Caucasus continuities, including nearby Mountain and Crimean/Caucasus communities on the map.
